Dichotomy Coffee in Waco Christmas Theme

christmas in waco at a coffee shop

What’s Dichotomy Coffee Shop

Dichotomy is a coffee shop located in Waco at the heart of downtown. The address is 508 Austin Ave, Waco, TX 76701, next to the historic Alico building. They have been around for years and have continued growing as downtown has expanded. The vibes used to be in a way that preserved the historic appeal, but they recently repainted the walls, creating a more energetic vibe. I have heard mixed opinions of people who like it and others who miss the old theme. The walls are full of color now; some have described them as “futuristic” and “trippy.” It is cool, but the vibe certainly changed with the new paint.

Christmas Decorations at Dichotomy Waco

Every year, Dichotomy sets up the entire space with Christmas decorations, including lights, trees, and ornaments everywhere. This blends nicely with their new vibrant paint job – color everywhere! Everything from the backings of the chairs to the bathroom doors is decorated. They also play Christmas music around the clock, keeping the vibes friendly and jolly.

Christmas Drinks in Waco

I noticed some special drinks for the holiday – mostly Christmas-themed cocktails on the bar side of their shop. But I noticed a few holiday drinks on the coffee menu as well. The pricing is standard for coffee that one will see these days, but they are on the pricier end. Fear not; their standard drinks align with prices one may be used to. My favorite go-to at Dichotomy is a simply iced latte. It’s rich, and I get it plain without any sweeteners. It comes out to a little over $5.00 before tip.

Things to Do Near Dichotomy

When you are near Dichotomy, you are in the center of downtown Waco. You are blocks away from Union Hall, which is a food court in Waco. You are also on a main road that has shops and bars. If you like walking around or taking a few breaks while working at a coffee shop, Dichotomy is an excellent place. If you visit during the evening, you could start the night at Dichotomy before strolling to bars like True Love, just around the corner. You are also near the Waco Suspension Bridge and other historic landmarks.

Final Thoughts on Dichotomy

If you like a unique atmosphere and being near other Waco happenings, Dichotomy is an excellent place to enjoy coffee or a drink. The staff is happy to serve you and go all out for Christmas. Check out the rooftop while you are here; it has a nice view of Waco City Hall. Dichotomy was one of Waco’s first leading coffee shops until the city began thriving with all of the shops. Give them a visit next time you are around!
